Remember when the mailbox meant something?

A letter from your grandmother. A card someone actually chose and stamped and walked to the post office. Something that made you stop right there on the sidewalk to open it.

Then email happened. Then social media. Now it is credit card offers and furniture catalogs addressed to people who moved away in 2011.

Technically Yours brings that feeling back. Something a real person made, thought about, and sent to you on purpose.

What this actually is

A letter. Something I found.
Something made with love.

Once a month I write you something real. Then I look around at what I have been finding and what I have been given — my mother's arts and crafts supplies, good paper, little things she created with her own hands, objects from thrift stores and yard sales and markets I love — and I put the right things in an envelope and mail it on the 25th.

Some months it is a beautiful piece of paper she saved. Some months it is a ribbon, a fabric swatch, a little handmade something. Some months it is a tea bag from a blend I love, a dried leaf, a small scent sachet, something that smells like autumn or lavender or something you cannot quite name but immediately recognize. Some months it is a thrift store find that made me stop and think of you.

The letter is always there. Everything else is what I found, what was given to me, and what felt right to pass along.

What might arrive

The letter is always there.
Everything else is a discovery.

Always

The Letter

Original writing, two to four pages. Honest, personal, not advice. This is the reason the whole thing exists.

Good Paper

Beautiful paper my mother saved, handmade sheets, something with texture and weight worth touching. She had exquisite taste.

Something Sensory

A tea bag, a dried leaf, a scent sachet, a pressed flower, a ribbon, a fabric swatch. Something that engages more than just your eyes.

Something Unexpected

A thrift store find, a little treat, something I came across that made me think of you. No formula. Just instinct and good taste.

Twenty minutes that belong entirely to you. Something to read, something to hold, something to make you smile. In a world designed to grab your attention, this is the thing that gives it back.

Is this for you

This might be for you if —

You love getting real mail almost as much as you love good paper
You know what you were listening to when the important things happened
You made mixtapes for people you loved and could not quite tell
You read the liner notes. You still do.
You appreciate a good scent, a beautiful texture, a small unexpected delight
Most things marketed to women like you make you tired
You have survived at least one complete reinvention
You own things you kept through four moves and cannot explain why
You are done with social media but not with depth
You would rather get a letter than a notification
You have opinions about paper stock
The subscription

Questions

The things people actually ask.

What is Technically Yours? +
Technically Yours is a monthly mailed correspondence for women who remember when getting something in the mailbox actually meant something. Every month I write you a real letter and send along whatever I found that month — good paper, little handmade things from my mother's craft supplies, thrift store finds, something chosen for you with care. It is not a subscription box. It is mail, made by a real person, sent to you on purpose.
How do I subscribe? +
Visit ko-fi.com/theresabimbela and click the Membership button. After subscribing please email your full mailing address to theresa@tabongrants.com with the subject line: My Technically Yours Address. I cannot send your first envelope without it.
When will my first envelope arrive? +
Envelopes are mailed on the 25th of each month. Subscribe before the 20th and you receive that month's envelope. After the 20th your first envelope goes out the following month so there is enough time to do it right.
How do I cancel? +
Email theresa@tabongrants.com. No forms, no runaround. Cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing cycle.
Can I give this as a gift? +
Yes. Same price, $15 a month for as many months as you choose. Email theresa@tabongrants.com and I will set it up. I will include a handwritten gift note with the first envelope.
What if my envelope gets lost? +
Email theresa@tabongrants.com. I keep a small stock of each month's contents for exactly this reason. I will make it right.
Do you ship outside the US? +
Not yet. US only for now. Email theresa@tabongrants.com if you are outside the US and interested and I will let you know when that changes.
